Cutie pie!

Oh man, he is so cute!! Everything ends in -pie around here... "where's your sissy-pie? Do you want a nappy-pie? Is that daddy-pie?" Speaking of pie, my mom made the most delicious fresh sour cherry pie last week. They have a cherry tree in their yard and there is nothing better than sour cherry pie. It has ruined me for any other type of cherry pie. The stuff that comes in a can is not very appetizing if you ask me.

Anyway, back to the cuteness.

Peanut

Rachel and John stopped over with the baby last night, it was nice to see them. Baby John really liked me, just look how he is smiling!

Look at those big eyes! He is so alert!

Rachel is still having trouble from her complications, please keep her in your prayers.

Two teeth!!

Boy boy got his second tooth earlier in the week when Craig was out of town. I had to wait until he got home to try to get a picture because I needed someone to pry open his mouth.

There are at least 20 images like this... he thought it was real funny for some reason.

Finally, I got the picture!

Love these crazy kids. All three of them.

Ella wanted to play freeze tag and this is the look she gives me when she is tired of the camera.

Carnival

The girls had a great time at the carnival yesterday, they rode the merry mixer three times.

Of course their favorite part is the junk food and candy.

Kennedy ate her way around the apple without ever actually taking a bite. Until we pointed it out to her. Eating caramel dipped in sprinkles is like eating pure sugar. Disgusting.

I often wonder about the sub-culture of carnival workers. They spend the entire summer traveling from small town to small town in tiny trailers to set up rides and charge ridiculous prices. So I decided to make friends with a few of them. Get to know them better in an effort to better understand their culture. Cause I'm diverse like that.

I talked to these two guys working the dart game for a bit. This one below tells me that he needs some pictures for his portfolio. Says he could have been like Macaulay Culkin and should be in more films. I can't make this stuff up.

I found it so ironic that these weathered men, who were chain smoking, were in charge of a game for children.

They were very kind to me, allowed me to take their pictures, and even gave me a free stuffed penguin. "Anything for a pretty lady," he says.

Thursday

Only one more day until the end of Operation No Daddy. Will we survive? I'm fairly certain that Ella and Little will make it, but I'm not so sure about boy boy and I.

I have always considered myself a very ambitious, independent person, but there is one thing that brings me to my knees. My kryptonite, my achilles heel, if you will. And that is lack of sleep. I NEED sleep and lots of it. I know you're thinking, yeah, big deal, we all need sleep... but I don't think you understand. Even in college, while everyone else was out partying, I was in bed around 9:30. I remember one weekend evening when Craig and I were dating, it was about 9pm and he looked at me and asked, "do you wanna go to bed?" I knew at that moment that he was the one for me.

Anyway, I did have a slight reprieve from my angst this morning because birds don't chirp when it's raining. Let's hope for rain tomorrow as well. What a bunch of wimps.

When Craig gets home in about 32.5 hours (but who is counting), I am going to sleep and sleep and sleep. After I get a pedicure, of course. Can't do anything with unpolished toes.

On another note, I was trying to pack client albums yesterday and this is the help that I received from Little. I guess she thought she would warm up the box for me. How thoughtful.

I hate birds.

Ok, hate is a pretty strong word, allow me to rephrase. I currently really dislike birds. I took this picture last week during my photography class at CCBC. This cute, fuzzy little baby had fallen from his nest during a storm. I wanted to hold and snuggle him and tell him that it would be ok because his momma would find him soon. But I didn't because if I got my "smell" on him, his mother might abandon him. What kind of mother abandons her babies because of smell? My baby doesn't always smell that great, but I still take care of him.

Anyway, that's not even the reason that I currently really dislike birds. For two mornings in a row, boy boy has woken at 4:30am for a bottle. I drag my weary body out of bed to go feed him and upon returning to bed at 4:50, exhausted because this isn't the first time he's woken up, I just lay my head on the pillow and start to fall asleep when I hear it....

chirp

chirp chirp

chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp

Why do they feel the need to tell everyone and everything that the sun is starting to rise? WHY?? Are they talking? And if so, what are they saying? "Hey Leroy, it's time to wake up, gots to find me some worms today."

And do all birds speak the same language or do they have different dialects per breed? Is that why there is so much chirping? Otherwise they are all just talking over one another which is rude.

So about 45 minutes later, once the chirping slows down, I'm still awake because these are the questions I ponder. Somebody. Help. Me.

Outside Fun

I bought this backpack for Craig to carry licious around while we are hiking on vacation (leaving in a few weeks) because he is getting too heavy for the Baby Bjorn.
Anyway, Ella and I were playing outside when Craig comes out with boy boy to test the apparatus. The problem? The boy is naked. Only wearing a diaper. Welcome to my life.

Ella was showing me the cheers she is learning. Did I mention that she decided to be a cheerleader this year? The only bummer is that her games are on Saturday's, so I will probably miss most of them because of weddings.

Real food!

Picked up one of these safety feeders at Walmart the other day because boy boy keeps grabbing for our food and I figured that he probably wants more than just sweet potatoes. Anyway, I put a banana in it for him and he LOVED it! I divided the rest of the banana into sections and froze them separately for later use. He loves banana's and he loves cold (probably because of his teeth), so my frozen banana concoction should be a big hit. Was thinking of adding some coconut rum for good measure but thought better of it.

Gymnastics

Forgot to post last week about Goosie's gymnastics show. Boy boy and I were unable to attend because of his bed time, but Craig took some pictures.

This is her teacher Mr. Mick, he is great with the kids.

Receiving her trophy!

Scootchy Scootchy!

Boy boy is learning how to propel himself forward!! I decided I wanted to get some pictures of this milestone, so I used my old 20D as bait because he loves to chew on camera straps (poor kid doesn't any better, the 20D is a relic).

Look at me momma! I'm a big-a-boy!

I don't have many pictures with licious, so this is a self portrait. (Yes, I softened my skin and turned it black and white because I didn't have any make-up on, it's about the moment anyway, people).

Happy Birthday Boy Boy!

Boy boy licious is six months old today!!!

Isn't he yummy?!?

He is such a special, sweet little boy. And believe it or not, we think he is slimming down a bit. Or at least it appears as if he is starting to grow into his head. LOL

Today is our anniversary!

Hard to believe that we have been married nine years. I am so blessed to have the most wonderful husband in the universe, he is certainly the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am also proud to say that our love has grown in depth and breadth more than I ever imagined possible.

This is one of my favorite engagement pictures, it was taken in 1997... or back in the olden days, as Ella would note.

Happy anniversary sexy!

First tooth!!

Boy boy was in a really good mood this evening, he was laughing and giggling at everything his sissy said or did. I wondered if something had changed, so I checked his mouth and sure enough there was a tooth!! I am trying like heck to get a picture of it with my macro lens, but he isn't having anything to do with that. For now, here is another picture from the series that I took last week.

WOW, it's hot!!

The temperature reached 95, AGAIN today, but the humidity made it feel much warmer. We probably should have just stayed in the air conditioning, but we packed up the kiddos and headed over to the farm.

On the way there, someone got real sleepy.

And so did someone else. It was so heavenly that we drove around for almost an hour, just to talk.

Here is a typical scene... Ella playing in water, grandpa doing something he shouldn't be with boy boy, and UM having a beer.

So I'm shooting away while Goosie plays in the water (which was freezing, btw) and she starts striking poses.

It gets better...
And better...
I did not ask her to do any of this, I have no idea where she gets this stuff. Oh, wait a minute, she does watch me edit my weddings sometimes and you know I love those sexy bridal shots. I added Photoshop enhancements to these images to match the mood.

I let my dad hang out with boy boy...

And this is what happens. Sure, you see a happy baby playing in the sand, but I see a mess that I will have to deal with, sand in the mouth, possibly in the eyes, etc.

And then, I spot Craig teaching our daughter how to shoot a BB gun. Geesh, I can't take my eyes off these kids or my family for a second!
