My Girl

There are no words.

I have no idea what she was doing, but there were hats on her feet and my scarf was her "skirt."

JP's Birthday Party

On Sunday Ella and I headed over to John Patrick's first birthday party. Boy Boy had just gone down for a nap, so he and daddy stayed behind.

I like this picture of JP and Rachel's dad, he loves his Pappy.

Ella and her new friend Angela.

I don't think he was digging what was going on...

Until his mom gave him the good stuff!

He LOVED his cake and was shoveling it in as fast as he could. I personally think his mom took it away from him too soon, but don't worry, I feel it my duty as Godmother to sneak stuff to him every once in a while.

ps. For some reason I was in a black & white/sepia type mood today. Must be the rain.

FUN!!!

We had the most amazing weather on Friday and Saturday, so of course we took the kids to the playground!

Mr. boy boy licious had never been to the playground before and he LOVED it. Couldn't stop talking about it.

He is much more aggressive than Ella was at this age, he wanted to climb on everything.

He walked by Craig and I at one point and waved and said, "hi," as he continued on to something else.

Ella and her BFF Rachel.

I love the static in his hair!

He knew that he wouldn't be able to tackle this obstacle on his own.

He made a new friend while he was there, and even explained to him the virtues of mulch.

Then he proceeded to show him how to throw it. Very nice capture by daddy!

ps. Rachel is Ella's BFF, but I am her BFFL, please don't confuse the two.

pps. BFF = best friends forever. BFFL = best friends for life. Clearly, being her BFFL is more meaningful, it does have an additional letter, after all.

New Design

I was growing tired of the old design, so I thought I would simplify things a bit. I like having the labels and archives easily accessible at the bottom of the page, along with my Twitter updates. Feels cleaner and more streamlined to me. Also eliminates the need for a search feature. I am limiting the number of posts on the main page to four, for faster loading. You can view older posts via the archives or the 'older posts' link above the footer.

I will most likely continue to play with this design as it can sometimes be difficult for me to finalize things. Always seems like there is something more to play with.

Course I couldn't post without including a picture. Remember when Boy Boy was having problems learning how to eat? Well, his father convinced him to try pancakes with syrup one evening, and from that moment on, he began eating solid foods.

ps. Yes, I said "pancakes one evening," because they made breakfast for dinner.

pps. I wasn't around for the festivities (teaching that evening) because they knew that I would not approve of such nonsense.

ppps. I believe that there are some foods that should be time specific. Can't have a Coke before noon, can't have breakfast for dinner or pizza for breakfast. Guess I'm just strange that way.

Awesome!

I took the picture above using my iPhone, then I edited it using the
Photogene app (kinda like a mini Photoshop), and now I am posting
directly from my phone. Who doesn't love technology?!

My sweet girl loves to write notes to us on her whiteboard.

Easter

Ella asked me on Easter eve, "are parents really the Easter bunny?" I said, "no way, where would you get a crazy idea like that?" You guessed it: school. Darn those big kids. This magical time in her life is so brief, and I would like to hang on to it for as long as possible. So if you have older children, PLEASE TEACH THEM TO KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT!

Lou looked so handsome, but I'll be darned if he was gonna let me get a picture. That big blob in the corner is Ella's head, I was maneuvering like crazy to get a picture of him.

Most of the time he was running away from me.

Or playing with his toys from the EB.

My big girl, however, was more than happy to cooperate.

When Ella woke up in the morning, she said, "Mommy, I am so excited for today! Do you wanna know why? Because Jesus has risen and THE EASTER BUNNY BROUGHT ME TOYS AND CANDY!!!!!" She was certainly more excited about the EB, but we have been teaching her about God and Jesus and how important that sacrifice was for us. And she knew that she had better be respectful to Jesus first, lest she receive a lecture.

FORGET trying to get a picture of the two of them. He was wiggling all over the place.

He would rather be gazing outside.

Or fussing at me to pick him up.

You know that he weighs, like, a hundred thousand of pounds? (That is Ella's description, and she is pretty accurate). My back and arms will not last much longer.

Sweet, little, cutie pie.

I love to smell my children.

Craig took a few of these after church of Ella.

She was really working the camera.

Again with the smelling. I love to bury my head on them and soak them in, and I can identify them by scent. I'm like a penguin that way. I can even smell when one of them is getting sick... it's not a bad smell, but it is different and distinct. Love my babies.

Hoppy Easter!

I tweeted this yesterday, but Ella kept saying, "Hoppy Easter Mommy! Get it? Hoppy because the Easter bunny hops!"

We decorated eggs on Saturday, one batch was cooked to perfection, but I accidentally left another batch on the stove boiling for over an hour. Oops.

No matter, they all dye the same, and mr boy boy licious had fun learning the ropes.

He took it very seriously.

Of course everything must be taste tested first.

And then he tried to use the dipper. Except I wouldn't let him anywhere near the dye.

I turned away for one second to take this lovely picture of my mom and daughter, and when I turned back...

This is what I found. "Uh oh," he says.

"I didn't do anything Momma!"

Again with the "uh oh," it is his favorite phrase.
